# The Forge

![](/files/6IKQy7bcMPTXPArMQJ1b)

**The Forge**

The Forge allows players to craft ships, turrets, modules, weapons and a wide range of other items in the game if they own the assets to do so. Blueprints are required inside the forge to craft an item, along with the materials (minerals and BITS) needed to complete a given build. New blueprints can be acquired through the Space Misfits store and already minted assets through the Enjin NFT marketplace.

Currently, every forged item is housed in the server and off-chain, contained in the centralized database of Space Misfits. Items that are built in the forge are destructible in space and lost when destroyed. Players will have to use the forge again to replace the item if they own the blueprint and have the materials or buy that item in the player marketplace.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://space-misfits.gitbook.io/whitepaper/basic-game-concepts/gameplay-features/space-station/the-forge.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
